Kenneth Wapnick, Ph.D.
The title for this workshop comes from a statement of Mark Twain’s, “Kindness is the language which the deaf can hear and the blind can see.” The theme of kindness goes to the heart of the whole message of the Course. This program looks at the source and meaning of kindness and unkindness, and the Course’s means for undoing unkindness—forgiveness—changing our mind’s teacher so that in our interactions we reflect the loving Source of kindness. We are reminded that, just as Jesus is the manifestation of the Holy Spirit, we are asked to be his manifestation, delivering his message of kindness in a world of unkindness and attack. This is done, not by our words, nor our deeds—but by our example.
When we live that message [of kindness], which is that all our sins are forgiven, then people who were blind before can suddenly see it. And people whose ears were blocked up by their guilt can hear it. And they see and hear it even if their eyes and ears and even their brains don’t register it.
