Kenneth Wapnick, Ph.D.
This book is a combination of two edited transcripts from one-day Workshops held in Temecula, California.
The first workshop, Jesus: Symbol and Reality, focuses on the distinction between symbol and reality, which is shown to be crucial to one's spiritual growth as a student of A Course in Miracles. Confusing the two ensures that one remains a spiritual child, never developing the mature relationship with Jesus that leads to the love and peace that is beyond all symbols, and that alone is our true reality.
The theme of the second workshop, Forgiving Jesus: "Stranger on the Road," is our need to forgive Jesus because he is right and we are wrong about who we truly are. This theme is discussed in the context of Helen Schucman's poem, "Stranger on the Road," which expresses her experiences of Jesus' crucifixion and resurrection, and reflects her conflict of despair and hope, death and life, fear and love, a conflict which practically all students of A Course in Miracles share in developing a relationship with Jesus.
The edited transcripts are not verbatim to the edited audio recordings of the same titles.
