Students of Kenneth's may not be aware that viewing our life as a classroom in which we can learn our lessons of forgiveness is one of Kenneth's many contributions to the study and practice of the Course. The term is used only once in the Course itself (in its plural form), early in chapter 2, and then disappears. We are suggesting three titles this month where Kenneth explores this helpful concept for shifting our perception of what seems to happen to us beyond our control. Everything we experience offers the opportunity to learn that, if I am not at peace, I have simply chosen the wrong teacher for my classroom, and there are only two to choose between, either the ego or the Holy Spirit.

The focus of these two books is on what it means to be a right-minded parent and a right-minded child. The former role involves being faithful to the changing function of parent, at the same time respecting the child's mind to choose its life experiences, and whether to perceive them through the eyes of the ego or the Holy Spirit. The latter role expresses the meaning of Freud's insightful statement:
The liberation of an individual, as he grows up, from the authority of his parents is one of the most necessary though one of the most painful results brought about by the course of his development.

Learning from the Holy Spirit
A Commentary on Workbook Lesson 193:
"All things are lessons God would have me learn."
This is one of the most important lessons in the workbook, in that it integrates the two levels of A Course in Miracles: the theory and the practical application of this theory. It also brings to the surface the confusion sometimes resulting from these two levels of the Course's language.
