In this workshop, the importance of Jesus in the ego's plan of atonement is contrasted with his importance in the Holy Spirit's plan. It is shown how the ego's Jesus—the biblical Jesus—validates the centrality of individual and bodily existence, thereby ensuring the ego's continuation; whereas the Jesus of A Course in Miracles is shown to symbolize the thought of God's Love in our minds that gently leads us out of the dream of specialness and individuality. The Jesus of A Course in Miracles thus replaces the image of the biblical Jesus portrayed throughout history, who was so thoroughly rooted in the world's dream of the body.
