Art and "A Course in Miracles": Reflections of Holiness [MP3]

Against a backdrop of James Joyce's distinction between proper and improper art, the workshop discusses the perfect integration of form and content as the core of great art, as well as the essence of what A Course in Miracles calls advanced teachers of God. The true work of art (form) thus emanates from the artist's inner experience (content), as opposed to being the result of external (i.e., special) concerns such as a fame, power, or approval. Parallels are drawn between the artist's integrating the content of the Holy Spirit's truth within the forms of specific artistic expression, and students of the Course who strive for the same integration in their personal lives. Thus do both artist and student become reflections of the holiness within, expressed in whatever form that holiness can be communicated without fear.
