Kenneth Wapnick, Ph.D.
Jaques’ famous speech from Shakespeare’s As You Like It serves as the framework for this workshop on the ego’s use of the body to further its goal of perpetuating the mind’s belief in separation, protecting itself from the decision-making mind reversing its erstwhile decision and choosing the Holy Spirit as its Teacher. Thus does the ego convince us that since the body is real, not to mention the world in which it resides, they should be taken seriously. And so we give the world and body power to affect our self and take away our peace. Inviting our new Teacher into our lives means learning to forgive our projections by returning them to our minds where the choice for guilt can be undone. This is the meaning of forgiveness and the means for returning to our home as spirit.
The body can become a sign of life, a promise of redemption, and a breath of immortality to those grown sick of breathing in the fetid scent of death. Let it have healing as its purpose. Then will it send forth the message it received, and by its health and loveliness proclaim the truth and value that it represents. Let it receive the power to represent an endless life, forever unattacked. And to your brother let its message be, “Behold me, brother, at your hand I live.”
