This workshop, originally titled “Call It Not Sin…”: The Ego's Death Knell, focuses on “The Substitute Reality” in Chapter 18. This section helps us to see the importance of not being afraid of looking at the “tiny, mad idea”—as well as all its shadowy fragments, projected into a world of form: our substitute reality. But we are afraid and our fear reinforces the underlying error that says we did do this, we are guilty, and we do deserve to be punished. And so the world becomes a defense against looking within. This program helps us realize that, with love beside us, we need not be afraid of looking at our anger, our hatred, our guilt and our specialness.
