As we come to understand the metaphysical teachings of A Course in Miracles, which place full responsibility for our experiences on our own mind’s decision (e.g., T-21.II.2-3), we often judge ourselves and feel guilty for our conscious and unconscious projections of guilt onto our body and the bodies of others. Yet this is a confusion that merely plays into the ego’s plan to keep us mindless. We want our focus instead to be on our mind’s mistaken choice for the ego itself, so that choice can be undone, with the help of the Holy Spirit or Jesus. What seems to be happening at the level of form is only the classroom in which we can learn our forgiveness lessons. This class will explore, through discussion and readings, why “the secret of salvation ... that you are doing this unto yourself” (T-28.VIII.10:1) is not an indictment but an invitation simply to make a different choice of teachers. And so we can come to recognize that peace is possible, regardless of conditions in the world or in our body.
