The dream is the principle metaphor A Course in Miracles uses to describe what we experience as our life as a body in the world (e.g., T-27.VIII). The Course is not the only spiritual teaching to draw upon this metaphor, but it is unique in its explanation of both the origin and nature of the dream and the purpose it serves in keeping us asleep. And so the Course asserts, “Awareness of dreaming is the real function of God's teachers” (M-12.6:6). This program, through readings and discussion, will explore how the miracle allows us to shift our perspective increasingly from the dream figure we believe we are to the dreamer that we really are, while we are asleep and dreaming. As a result, as we choose a different guide for our dreaming, our dreams will gently shift from nightmares of separation and attack to the happy dream of awakening to our Oneness.
