We deliberately and foolishly hide from ourselves the truth of who we are and where our happiness lies, beneath many covers and blankets (T-12.II.4:6), and then believe our life’s purpose is to seek and find truth and happiness outside ourselves (T-29.VII). Jesus smiles at our silly game, at times referring to us as children (e.g., T-6.V.2-4; T-9.IV.11-12), sometimes even as little children or babies (e.g., T-4.II.5; T-11.VIII.7:1-2). Although we try to pretend we are grown-up and mature (T-31.V.1:5-7), we do it by taking our foolish game seriously, with winners and losers, often with seemingly tragic consequences (W-41.2). And so Jesus offers to join us in our games, but now giving them a different purpose (T-26.X.5; W-153.8), so that they may have only a happy outcome, with no one losing and everyone gaining. This program will explore how we can make that shift in outcome for our lives, as we move towards spiritual maturity, with the help of our elder brother (T-1.II.3-4).
